Travelling west along the Great Ocean Road, the turnoff to Cape Otway is 22km from Apollo Bay (or 30km from Lavers Hill if you’re approaching from the east).

Drive for 7½km down the Lighthouse Road & turn right into Manna Gum Drive (signposted Cape Otway Caravan Park).

Drive for 800m to the caravan park entrance & turn left into Bracks Access. Cape Otway Ocean Lodge is a further 1½km along this road.

  • Colac – 92km, 1 hour 25 minutes

ACA Accreditation

Cape Otway Ocean Lodge is a member of and fully accredited with the Australian Camps Association. It is the only accredited camp on Cape Otway.

To achieve accreditation, camps have to demonstrate to independent consultants that they meet the core standards for the safe and reasonable operation of the site and program. The following is an extract from the ACA website:

An accredited campsite or outdoor activity provider will have been assessed by an independent person to have met 23 requirements and over 75 checklist items in the areas of:

  • health, hygiene and safety
  • buildings and facilities
  • activity equipment and the conduct of activities
  • business administration
  • emergency procedures
  • participant supervision
  • quality assurance and consumer protection

Malcolm and his staff have a minimum Level 2 First Aid training and have undergone Working With Children Checks.
