1. HISTORICAL CAPE OTWAY. Within 1 km of the Lodge visit Cape Otway Lighthouse ~ the oldest lighthouse station on the Australian mainland. Tours operate daily. Learn about the many shipwrecks along the coast, and walk to Parker River where lighthouse supply boats once unloaded their precious cargo.
2. NATURALLY CAPE OTWAY Explore Manna Gum forests on horse back where koalas, wallabies and other wild life abound, and the range of native vegetation is as vast as the terrain. Or trail ride down to Station beach. Walk to Rainbow Falls where the waters tumble thirty metres down sheer cliff face to the ocean. Take a stroll on some of the 100 acres of farmland surrounded by the ocean and Otway National Park. Discover isolated beaches, the best fishing spots, glow worms…..
3. THE CAPE & SURROUNDS Central to all the highlights of the Great Ocean Road, there are a range of wonderful sights and activities within easy driving distance from Cape OtwayOcean Lodge. Discover the 12 Apostles and the Shipwreck Coast. Explore cool temperate rainforests, waterfalls and ferngullys and the newly developed Great Ocean Walk. Visit the Otway Fly--highest tree top canopy in the world. Or visit weekend markets, local crafts in ceramics, glass and furniture making.
